Conveniently located in the middle of a historic Village, this gracious Greek Revival home will entice you to escape from your daily routine. Our desire is to offer our guests the very best of what we have enjoyed about bed & breakfasts over the years. From our front porch you will be able to stroll to any number of Montgomery's critically acclaimed restaurants--an added bonus. So come, kick off your shoes, share a glass of wine, relax in one of our cozy reading nooks, browse in our antique shop, and sleep on Egyptian cotton before waking up to a sumptuous breakfast.

Antiquers' Delight

Blue Shutter Antiques, located in the Borland House, is all ready for the spring season when antiquers start searching for that perfect piece. Be sure to check out the shop and see our latest arrivals! And, guests of the Borland House receive a 15% discount on antiques.

Montgomery is an antiquer's delight! Check out the half dozen other antique shops right here in the Village. Come to the River Valley Auction, down the street. Stay late, go out to dinner, and stay overnight with us before returning home with your treasures. Auctions are on Saturday evenings.

Don't miss the Pine Bush Auction, 2 blocks away, for some great entertainment and surprising finds. Lots of wrought iron, china, old musical instruments, etc. Next auction: Friday, May 17th.

Montgomery's Village-wide Yard Sale will take place on Saturday, May 18th from 10:00-5:00. Stay at the Borland House on Friday and you'll be in the hub of this fun-filled event. Enjoy a hearty breakfast to fortify you as you charge out the door to beat out the competition for treasures!

Calling All Yankee Fans

Stay at the Borland House and take the Yankee train right to Yankee Stadium! It's only a 1-hour ride from Beacon. You avoid all the traffic and parking fees. Best of all, you get to ride with other crazed Yankee fans (like us!). Convenient and inexpensive. They may even let some of you Boston fans on the train...

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts offers world class entertainment in a timeless setting. Check out their schedule and the museum at this historic Woodstock Festival site.

Downing Film Center offers high quality entertainment in an intimate 50-seat theater.

The local music scene is just down the block. On Thursdays head to Garrison's Tavern for acoustic music or Copperfield's Irish Pub to showcase your talents at their Open Mic Night. Fridays and Saturdays offer a line-up of bands at the National Hotel Bar and Grill.

Writers' Retreat. The writing muse seems to have found its way to the Borland House. Over the last 3 months many of our guest have come, simply to...write. Maybe it's the cozy nooks. Maybe it's the quiet. Maybe it's stepping back in time.

Enjoy Thomas Bull Memorial Park, 5 minutes away. The Mohonk Preserve is open year-round for walking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

Visit DIA Beacon to experience bigger-than-life contemporary art installations.

FDR's home/museum/library offers an indepth historical journey.

Grand Opening of Bocuse Restaurant at the CIA

Bocuse Restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America is keeping alive the classic French culinary traditions by recreating the classics with better quality and techniques. The grand opening is scheduled for February 15, 2013. You'll need to reserve well in advance--probably months in advance for a week-end night. Instead of driving all the way home afterwards, stay at the Borland House. Prolong your pleasure!
